“God is much more concerned about us knowing His love for us, than about us trying to love Him in our efforts.”
If we think that we ought to worship God with our hands and feet, to sing and shout with our voices, and to bow down and prostrate ourselves to prove to Him our love, and to even give up our so-called “selfish desires” to wholeheartedly surrender to Him thinking only then will He honor and bless us, then we are deceived and enslaved, and we got it wrong. Do we think that for some reason living by the law pleases God, or have we forgotten that it is precisely faith, and faith alone? There is nothing, and I mean nothing, that we can possibly do to please God. If it were so, then we would have something to boast about because of our own efforts. It is not about what we do for Him. It is about what He has already done for us. Stop trying to worship God, and start believing that you are worship to Him. When we understand this reality of who we are in Him, and who He is in us, there would be no more striving or trying. There would only be being. And out of this being, there is life and life abundantly. One that looks like Christ. Just think about it…Is your Dad pleased in your efforts to give Him glory, or is He simply pleased because you’re His very own child? You are not a slave, or even a servant. You are His adopted and beloved child.
